Indian classical music is further divided into two styles - Hindustani or North Indian classical music and Carnatic or South Indian classical music.
Hindustani Classical Vocal Music classes are being conducted every afternoon from Monday-Friday which is popular among the local Nepali youth and elders. The students are very talented and some have even been to Indian Universities to attend professional courses under ICCR sponsored Scholarship Schemes. At present, Ms. Deepsikha Srivastava, Vocal Music Teacher-cum-Performer deputed by ICCR, New Delhi, has been imparting vocal training to the students at ICC Kathmandu. There are more than 150 students taking regular classes at present.
